Memory Palace

The memory palace (method of loci) is the technique memory champions use: you place what you want to remember along a route you know well, then walk the route again to recall it. This app teaches it with a 40-session program modeled on a published training study (Dresler et al., 2017; Wagner et al., 2021), about 30 minutes a day.

A standard 72-word test measures your starting point. You then learn palaces by walking through them in first person, with a narrated guided tour, and practice every day with a word ladder that grows each time you get every word right. After 40 sessions you take the same kind of test again and see your own numbers side by side.

In the study, the trained group went from recalling about 25 words to about 62 on average. That is the average of a small group, not a promise; the app shows your own results as they are.

Everything is free, including the full program, with My Home and any palaces you build yourself. A one-time purchase unlocks the other 7 3D palaces.
